The process of expiation is not only a unique path of metaphysical reunification, nor a sacrifice through subjection or compliance. It’s both, but is also even more. The sense that most concerns the path of atonement is that of catharsis, the purification of man into different modes of self-reunification through sublime fields of meaning and emotion. This path can give a characteristic meaning to life and configure it in a peculiar way, but that particular kind of configuration is not absolute nor aprioristically determined. Moreover, the multiplicity and the sense of expiation is not just a field of human transcendence but concerns the contradictory flow of material life itself in its complexity. The process of atonement could represent the ravenous, sick, odd and contradictory side of human and in-human existence. It tries to outline the peculiar ways through which those sides are embraced and transfigured to become the sublime apparels of in-human catharsis.
Then, eleven sick sermons here. To turn the incipit of abhorrence into a faceted journey through inhumanity.
